Hey guys,
I just bought a viewsonic monitor : http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2...CDLY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291776339&sr=8-1
I am trying to use it with my macbook pro bought in 2007. The MacBook Pro is running the latest version of Snow Leopard and has 2GB memory, 2,4 ghz processor Intel,...
My problem is that I connect the computer and the monitor with DVI and whether I close or not my laptops' screen I see nothing on the monitor. Going to my preferences I checked the box saying "Mirror displays" and I have also tried using "Detect Displays". Nothing though is appearing on the monitor.
The only thing that happens when I close my laptop's monitor is that the mouse white key (cursor) appears for a few time on my monitor and then nothing else, just black monitor and mouse cursor and after that completely black screen.
I have tried to find info on several sites online but nothing works.
In addition, I noticed that the mouse cursor vanishes when I scroll it throughout the farthest parts of my monitor screen as if the resolution is not enough. My computer has 1400x900 max resolution but my monitor has 1950x1080. (All this I noticed while the screen is black, so do not get confused that it works at times).
Please help me resolve this issue as I was really looking forward to using this monitor.
