I found out that buying a 2011 MacBook Pro is a difficult task because you may not exactly know what to look for. I decided to make this list from the experiences that I have had so other people can avoid the problems I had.
When you first get your MacBook Pro, there are certain things that you need to watch for.
make sure the aluminum case doesn't have any problems such as misalignment, raw aluminum showing, dents or scratches.
Turn on computer to make sure everything powers up correctly.
Check to make sure USB ports work correctly.
Make sure the keyboard is aligned correctly and the keys aren't grinding against the aluminum case.
Take the computer to a dark place to make sure the keyboard backlight is consistent and not uneven. (Most Common Problem)
Check to make sure the internal speakers function properly, and check the audio out port to make sure it functions properly.
There is a slight "hissing" noise that is audible when the audio circuitry is active while using headphones in the 17" MBP and some of the 13" MBP models. (nothing can be done about this)
The above are the most common problems that I run into, and need to be watched for.
Please, If anyone else knows any other problems, comment to let new buyers know.
