This week my family and I will be embarking on a 8 hour trip to northern CA, while I do know that there are no car chargers available for MBPs I have heard about getting a power inverter to be able to charge while in the car.

My issue is I have no idea which kind to buy (good but sorta cheap would be nice, correct watts, etc.) Does anyone have any experience or suggestions regarding this topic?

The charger pulls 85W. With that being said, you could probably get away with a cheap 75W inverter, but to be safe go for something a little over 85W.

Here in Canada the best place to get them is Canadian Tire, but many places that sell automotive accessories should carry them.

Doesn't this work?
