recently, my macbook pro hard drive was damaged and i need to have a new one.
I havent change a hard drive on a macbook pro ever. So i want to ask are there anything i need to observe when i am buying a hard drive and replacing the hard drive?
Also, i want yo ask what hard drive should i choose. I dont prefer to replace the hard drive with a SSD. Which one should i choose? is the Seagate ST1000LM014 suitable for me?
My macbook pro is the early 2011 version.
thx

Any 2.5" 9.5mm drive with a SATA connection should be fine for you.

While I did this with an SSD, a standard HDD is exactly the same operation:

Thank you very much! Your video really helped me a lot! Im planning to buy the hard drive tomorrow, once again thx!

It really isn't at all difficult, but the biggest risk is losing the small screws, damaging the heads by using the wrong screwdriver and stripping the threads by over tightening. Do get the right screwdriver, and you will need a torx 6 as well.
