MacBook Pro Charger light goes out

I know this may be a old topic but I am looking for some answers. My SR MacBook Pro green charger goes out every once in a while. If you unplug it from the computer and plug it in it comes back on. If the light goes out it still will run off of the AC power. I have Applecare and called them a few time we reset the SMC. I have a second charger and it does it also. Apple care said take it to a Apple store and they will run a test. When I went to the Apple store And talked to the Genius. He said they will the test cd run it for 72 hours or I can do it at home. So here I am running the hardware test.
I think the problem is inside the MBP, any thoughts? I will like to get it repaired while it is still under Applecare.Anyone else had this problem and how are you dealing with it?

Mine does that on and off with one of my MBPs...no idea why. But it always charges, so I don't worry about it much.

It's definitely not a problem with the MacBook Pro. Mine does the same thing, so it's probably a Magsafe fault. If anything, the Genius would replace the Magsafe.

I have the same exact thing. It happens a lot now, not a big issue though. I am sure Apple will exchange it for me.

My GF has a MacBook Pro also and I switched mag safe adapters and my adapter works fine on her computer and the light goes out on her adapter when it is hooked up to my computer.

Possibly a piece of dust in yours that's blocking something from getting through. If it's charging, I wouldn't worry about it.

my light would go on an off, or dim, when i wiggled it.. i brought mine in the tha apple store an no luck, the guy said it was normal.

but i called apple an they gave the the cable area, an they guys said, oh sounds like a short in the wire ill send ya a new one,

so just give them a call, once or twice.

my light only goes off if i shut down my MBP, and close the lid while still plugged in. but still stays charged (i believe)

that's the only situation where it turns off which is strange.

Let me know what Apple does. Apple said they can replace the charger but when I said it does it with 2 chargers and the chargers work fine on another computer, thats when they subspect the macbook pro.

I called Apple Care a few weeks ago about my charger light going out. They said it is not normal and I should bring it by a Apple Store. I went in the next day and I explained it happens once in a while. They said they can test it for 72 hours or I can do the same test at home with the hardware CD. I took it home and the problem did not show up for a week. When it did I put in the Hardware diagnostic CD and it found no problems. So now what? Well at least I have 8 more months of Applecare.

Well it was still happening and I called Applecae. They got me to a power and battery specialist. She said it should not do it and wanted to have the power board replaced. Arranged to a repair at my local Apple Store took about 3 days.
