macbook pro charger

my orig. (2 year old charger) stopped working so I ordered another one.
The new one doesn't realy work,sometimes it does but most of the time not. Any ideas whats wrong here????

Is it an original charger from Apple or a third party charger? Do you still have the receipt?
Btw, it's a MacBook Pro, unless you carry one of these UPSs with you.

its a macbook pro, the original broken charger came with my mac, the new one was bought on amazon but its a real apple charger not a knockoff(i hope bec it came in a apple box....)

i heard that some old macs don't connect well with the new chargers???

Are you sure the original one is broken? Intermittent charging by a new charger may indicate a problem with machine, not the charger.

Is the new charger the same wattage as the old charger?

MBP needs 85 watt charger. 65 watt charger is only for macbook or air.

MBP needs 85 watt charger. 65 watt charger is only for macbook or air.

The MB and MBA can work with 85w chargers and the MBP can work with 60W and 45W (MBA) chargers.
