Macbook Pro charging cable - Data transfer?

Does anyone know if the USB-C cable that comes with the 15" Macbook pro have any data transfer capability? Couldn't find anything on google about this. Need to transfer my 12" rMB to my 15" MBP

Edit: Nvm. It does. Was showing 30 hours to transfer over wi-fi, plugged the cable on both laptops now down to 5 hours

Yes. It can carry data. But it is limited to usb 2.0 speeds 480mbps. I recommend getting a 3.1 spec usb-c cable
