Hi,

Recently my organization has deployed Cisco 1600 series Wifi Access Points in the Office.

The moment they went up, we are facing a peculiar situation:

1. All Windows PCs, iPhones, Android Phones CAN CONNECT to the Wifi.
2. Macbook PRO - RUnning on Mavericks and Yosemite CANNOT connect to the Wify.
3. Same Macbook PRO can connect to other Non-Cisco Wify routers.

I'm totally amazed.

We use WPA2-PSK security on the Wifi, both at Office and the "other non-cisco" wifi routers. The routers transmit both in 2.4GHz and 5 GHz channels. Encryption is TKIP which Apple Support says supported in Macbook.

When I contacted Apple Support, they raised a ticket and said that the way IOS and Yosemite/Mavericks connect to Wifi are different, and that for Macbook to connect, the Wifi channel should be 9 or 11. This is not correct, as I played around with my home Wifi (non-Cisco) and was able to connect to all channels.

I'm pretty much confused - being a techy myself, cannot find any reason why the device cannot connect to cisco. Cisco is not able to help as well.

Any of the forum members came with this kind of issue and how this got resolved?

Any help would be welcome!

Thanks & Regards,
