I'm in the market for a new laptop and am leaning towards the MB Pro (also considering the MB Air). The reason I'm leaning towards the Pro is because I don't really see myself toting it around too often.

It seems that there are so many configuration options and I'd like to get opinions on which ones are the best to go with. After reviewing and researching things, I've come up with this:

2.0ghz, 128mb SSD, 15" high-res anti-glare.

My thoughts are that the $400 for a bump in processor and $200 for the ram are a little excessive.

Let me know what you all think. Thanks...

The RAM is easy to upgrade yourself, and will just be getting cheaper as time goes on.

i dont know how much the 128gb ssd is from apple but the vertex 3 is coming out this month and will be more than twice as fast as any current gen SSD so you should look into that. Vertex 3 128gb will be ~$250.

What exact model of SSD is Apple using in the 2011 MBP? I'd like to compare the spec to upgrading it myself. Anyone have advice about upgrading the HDD? Is it difficult to do? It seems that as I'm thinking about it, it makes sense to upgrade myself. For the 128GB SSD from Apple you'd pay $200 and not get the drive that would originally come with it anyway (the 500GB serial ATA at 5400RPM)...
