Is there any applications or downloads I can use to modify my desktop on my MacBook Pro? I'd quite like to change it but have no idea where to begin!

What do you mean your desktop?
The background picture on your computer or the icons?
Or something completely different?
What sort of thing do you want to change?

menu > System Preferences > Desktop & Screen SaverFor the icons, you can get icon packs by searching "Mac icons" or just select "Get info" over a file folder, and paste the picture over the folder icon in that window.

There should be some sort of post liking and disliking button, although I can see how that might be abused.
