Macbook Pro died this morning. AppleCare+ expired one month ago.

I am so sad. I did everything I was supposed to and paid the $400 for Apple Care. The MacBook Pro worked great for 3 years and randomly I go to turn it on this morning and it doesn't work

I checked my email and my apple care expired late Sept of this year. Barely over 1 month ago!

I have an appointment at the apple store today, but I asked apple on the phone about this and they just said "that's unlucky" and suggested I go to the appointment anyway to at least see the repair cost.

insurance is a wager on the timing of misfortune.

What's the exact model?

If the Apple genius can't help for free, remove the bottom casing, disconnect the battery for a few hours, connect the charger without connecting the battery, and see if the MacBook turns on by itself without touching any keys or the power button.
