I am so sad. I did everything I was supposed to and paid the $400 for Apple Care. The MacBook Pro worked great for 3 years and randomly I go to turn it on this morning and it doesn't work :(

I checked my email and my apple care expired late Sept of this year. Barely over 1 month ago!

I have an appointment at the apple store today, but I asked apple on the phone about this and they just said "that's unlucky" and suggested I go to the appointment anyway to at least see the repair cost.

This sucks :(

insurance is a wager on the timing of misfortune.

hopefully your Apple support reps will be struck with an impulse toward generosity.

What's the exact model?

If the Apple genius can't help for free, remove the bottom casing, disconnect the battery for a few hours, connect the charger without connecting the battery, and see if the MacBook turns on by itself without touching any keys or the power button.
