MacBook Pro dies after directory check

Hi

My mac lost power during a boot up and cut out due to no battery. When I boot back up it runs through a directory check - the status bar that looks like it's checking the integrity of the disk. It completes then dies. Same thing if you hit power and run through again.

Any ideas would be appreciated

What year Macbook and what OS are you on?

If you are on Lion or later, try holding command-r when booting to get to recovery then try a repair disk ini Disk Utility.
