Hi,

Recently I replaced the screen in my MacBook Pro 15" Penryn (early 2008). Although the screen replacement was successful, I found out that the backlight is not working-- I can see a faint image on the screen.

So to remedy the problem, I bought the following and installed them:

Display LED Inverter/Driver Cable MacBook Pro

Display Inverter Board

So far, replacing these two parts have not fixed the display backlight. I have read that replacing the left i/o board (the magsafe board) might fix the problem. (http://www.ifixit.com/MacBook-Parts...n-2-5-GHz-Core-2-Duo-Left-I-O-Board/IF185-106) Will it? Any ideas? Help?

BTW, I am not covered by any warranty. So please don't say, "take it to a repair shop."

Thanks!
