Hey, so I know that you can run dual screens with a MacBook Pro, via the mini-display port and a mini-DVI adapter. I am wondering if the same thing can be done but with an HDTV rather than a LCD computer monitor. I am going to college in a month or so and will not be able to take the extra monitor I have, but I will be able to take a television. The TV supports VGA and DVI input, and before I go out and buy the adapter I want to know it is going to work. I already have a mini-HDMI adapter that I hook up to the TV, and it works great, but the two screens are identical. I want to be able to use the TV basically as an extension of the Mac screen, where I can run separate applications on either, or slide an open window to the television and back. So to recap, I want to be able to run dual screens with my MacBook Pro and my HDTV. I'd like to be able to do it HDMI, cause I already have the adapter, but if it is not posible, can I do it like a standard computer monitor with DVI?! Thanks.

You just need to go into displays in the settings menu and uncheck the mirror display option.
