I would just like to hear some opinions on whether my MBP's DVD drive might be on its way out.

For a while now its been acting a little "odd". Every once and a while I'll put a disc in and it wont acknowledge that theres a disc in the drive and I'll have to resort to forcing the DVD drive to eject. When I burn discs (DVD or CD) the program will always freeze on the last few minutes of the burn and the drive with make a repetitive click sound and wont eject until I restart my MBP. I believe this is a drive problem because it happens on every program regardless if I'm burning music, movies, or data. Also the outer half inch of the discs are always scratched up after being in the drive.

My MBP is a mid 2010 model so its about 2 years old now.

Thanks
