Hi I have a Macbook pro, A1229, 17in and it keeps spitting out dvds and cds. I have changed the drive for a new one but to no avail. It does show up in system profiler:
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-875S:

Firmware Revision: 1.00
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Generic Drive Support)
Profile Path: None
Cache: 2048 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RAM, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
Media: To show the available burn speeds, insert a disc and choose View > Refresh

It seems to be a software problem but I am not sure. I believe some other people have the same fault but have not found a fix. I have bought an external drive which works fine but I travel a lot and would like my system to be self contained

If you can help me I would be very grateful.

Connor
