My MacBook Pro early '08 went to sleep and won't wake up.

When I turn it on, I hear the optical drive and the sleep light on the lid button stays on but there is no display or chime. The mag safe light is green.

What I tried:
  • Run with and without the battery.
  • No display on external monitor.
  • Resetting the PRAM.

What should I do?

The Early 2008 model has the 8600m GT, it’s quite likely the GPU has failed. Lots of info on this forum about these failures, very common. But can be temporarily fixed via reflowing the solder.
