Macbook Pro Early 2008 battery compartment filler

The battery of my Macbook Pro Early 2008 stopped working and has swollen. It no longer fits in my notebook. The thing is, I only use this notebook on my desk. So for me there is no need for a new battery. BUT: the trackpad button needs something to click on, normally the top of the battery. Is there something that just fills the battery compartment?
