I have an early 2011 macbook pro and i want to upgrade the HDD just wondering is it a SATA I or SATA II HDD i will need. Looked all over the tech specs but nothing really clear.

It will support S-ATA 1.5 Gbps (S-ATA I), S-ATA 3.0 Gbps (S-ATA II), S-ATA 6.0 Gbps (S-ATA III), but any platter based notebook HDD will not even saturate S-ATA 1.5 Gbps (S-ATA I) anyway.
