Macbook Pro(Early 2015) and Two Monitors

I've searched and searched this forum, so sorry if it's been asked a billion times and I'm just an idiot.

I recently purchased two monitors and I want to connect my macbook or my GF's macbook to them. I am a bit confused as to what I should use make this happen. The monitors come with VGA cables, but they also have two HDMI inputs. Now, I understand there is the mini display port to VGA/HDMI, but which is better or does it even matter? I've been looking around and reading reviews and it seems like every cable is a hit/miss, even the Apple versions. I know people tend to leave a review when they aren't happy, but I still am not sure which way to go. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Just get two of these. Avoid VGA (Preference is Mini DisplayPort, DP, HDMI, DVI, with VGA being dead last) and don't bother with dongles unless you have other monitors you want to connect to.
