This is my first post so Hi to all! Whilst looking around PC World in Reading,UK
yesterday I saw that the usual MBP display model was missing. Upon asking the shop keep as to it's whereabouts he told me it had been sold and that they only sold off display models when they were not receiving any more of that particular item.! Maybe a sign that something is replacing the current MBP?
Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry....but no.

"new MacBook pro"

I guess it will be time for more speculation when they stop refering to the
MacBook Pro as "New" on the Apple website.

Nope, just the fact that PC World store have not ordered any, its probably a very small stock shifter.

Besides, why go to PC World? Im travelling twice as far to go to the Apple Store in southampton, as i love the service, and i can open it up there and then, and check its perfect:cool:

i think it'll be probably another year before they introduce the new MacBook Pro line up. It's gonna be just speed bumps and stuff along the way in my opinion.

as they say.. you can't kill the dream! ( for a new redesigned MBP!):D
it's just a question of when. 09 is the most reasonable yr.

PC world do 12 months defered interest free which leaves me cash to put back into my photography business. If they stock what I need it makes no difference
where its from. The nearest apple store to me is London
and thats a day off work, nice but money not earned!

Call them in advance to ask for details; a lot of times they are vague with "Yes we have this, yes we have that" when you go to the store and yes it has this, but you need to get that too!

I don't know it works in the UK, but this is the in-store retail configurations sold at the stores in the US:

(CPU Clock/RAM/HDD Capacity/HDD Spindle Speed/VRAM
15-inch
2.4/2GB/200GB/5400RPM/256MB
2.5/2GB/250GB/5400RPM/512MB
2.6/2GB/200GB/7200RPM/512MB
17-inch standard (1680x1050)
2.5/2GB/250GB/5400RPM/512MB
17-inch High-Resolution (1920x1200)
2.6/2GB/200GB/7200RPM/512MB

So if you wanted a 2.4GHz MBP, you can only get the 200GB 5400RPM drive.

And no they are not ending their MBPs; it's like Mercedes announces they stop selling their S-Class... Not likely.

From what the guy said, he thought the current spec was done and perhaps a speed bump or something was on its way.
