Macbook Pro External Hard Drives

Hey all,

I'm going to be using my Macbook Pro as my main computer from now on - The only downside to the Macbook is the hard drive space...

Does anyone use the Macbook as their main computer and use external hard drives for space?

I've been thinking about getting a small SSD for MacOS and other Mac Store apps etc. and then getting an External Hard Drive Caddie to hold my other hard drives (I have two 1TB hard drives I had in my previous rig which I'd like to use).

Any suggestions?

the drobo is a great solution if you need your data to be backed up its on the expensive side but if you cant afford to lose data over HDD failure then the drobo its a great option.

i use a OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro enclosure for a firewire 800 drive

I used to think this as well. Do you own a Drobo? I wonder what people's real experiences are with them because the hugely negative reviews of drobos on amazon really dissuaded me from buying one.
