Hello good mac people,

i have a macbook pro core duo, 2.0 ghz, that seems to not really go to sleep.

i close the lid, and it seems that the battery drains. i listen to the computer, supposedly asleep, but the fan seems to be still running, even the processor... and then later, the battery is drained!

what should i do? a firmware update? thought it was updated? a genius bar visit?

r.

is there really nothing i can do myself to try to fix the problem?

r.

seems like everything operates normally, except the fan just keeps going...

Have you tried putting it to sleep by pushing the power button and then select sleep from the menu that pops up?

Sounds like the EXACT same problem I had. What fixed it was replacing the sleeping mechanism. But my problem may not be your problem. You might want to reset the systems PMU.
Turn it off.
Remove the battery.
Remove the magsafe plug if its plugged in.
Hold down the power button for 10 or so seconds.
Put everything back together.
Power it back on.
See if it works now.

man, i love your signature :D :D :D :D

Yes I love Dilbert quotes. :D
