Hi, I was using my MBP with Windows Vista, and because the MBP runs hot I was using a fan control program. Then the battery ran low and windows shut down. It seems that somehow this program changed how my mac runs it's fans and now even in OS X the fan spools up much sooner and I wanted to fix it. I have tried reseting the NVRAM but that did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I mean I really don't want to go down to the genius bar which is almost an hour away.

This is the program:

Have you reset the fans to their defaults in Vista and then shut down normally? :S

Yup. No effect.

Edit: I did a complete NVRAM and PRAM reset (before it was only a NVRAM reset) and that seems to have mostly fixed it. However running SMC fan control, when I bring the fans down from 6000 RPMS to 2000 RPMS it takes a long time i mean at least 30-40 seconds. Before it would take less 5 seconds, but maybe it's my imagination.
