Basically I'm about to purchase a new Macbook Pro I have seen plenty of people talking about the possibility of upgraded processors etc but to be honest I need a computer now so I don't think I need to wait.
Ideally I would like to pick up the standard 13" as I don't have ton of money but I could stretch to the higher end 13" or at the most the cheaper 15".
I would like to think the computer could last me at least 3 years with the specs it has.
So my question is just the same that countless other people have asked would I have a laptop that I could use for basic Ableton use and music production in general and then I only use it for light use like internet and itunes other than that and would last me 3+ years if I went for the core 2 duo 13" or would it be worth me splashing out the extra.
If it makes a difference my 09 iMac performed fantastic with music production software and when using midi controllers etc and even the entry level 13" going off specs alone should perform better than that.
If I have missed any important info off let me know.
