I'm having a problem where my MBP keeps forgetting the screen brightness and backlight brightness settings. I usually have screen brightness at 11 bars and backlight at halfway, but when I restart the computer, screen brightness changes to 13 and backlight is full. Anyone know how I can solve this?

Could be a bad LB battery, have you tried an SMC re-set?

After re-setting the system management controller, put your settings back. If they still won't hold, chances are the small internal cell needs replacement.

Dumb question, but would having auto brightness on effect these settings? I don't know if auto brightness can control the backlight brightness too.
