i normally connect my macbook up to an external monitor, dock it and use it in clam shell mode,
recently i decided to try out connecting it to my tv also so i could you the laptop and watch you tube on the other screen the same time.

I noticed when I took it off the dock to use the laptop the computer was burning hot, like literally i could feel a mild burn to the upper left of the laptop, im assuming because it is putting extra load on the GPU?

Is this normal as Apple says it can support 2 monitors?

i have i statistica installed and the GPU says 60 degrees C
