Hi everyone,

my husband and I are debating on waiting for the Mac Pro desktop (next one whenever that comes out) or getting the Mac Book Pro that came out yesterday.

My concern is whether any of you have had experience editing HD video AVCHD to be exact. I like making HD movies and DVDs using Final Cut Express 4. So it's personal use, but I am wondering if it makes sense to wait another 4+ months for the Mac Pro desktop or do you guys think the Mac Book Pro laptop has enough "juice" for home editing.

any advice and thoughts would be appreciated? I guess I'd like to get the laptop but don't know if there is a issue. I use to own a G4 Laptop and it was slow in rendering.

The MBP (even last generation) would run circles around your old G4 when it comes to rendering. The MPro will be faster obviously, but you should be fine.
