Hi,

I have a 17" Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz that I bought in September 2007 with the NVidia 8600m gt graphics card. I heard that that model has been affected with a defective video card.

However, my motherboard was replaced in November 2007 for the 2.6 GHz. Did the potentially defective graphics card get replaced with the motherboard as well?

Thanks!

Isn't it built into the logic board? I would say yes you had it replaced but it was replaced w/ another potentially faulty one. Its not a "card" its a GPU.

Who knows what to believe w/ the dates...but between May of 2007 and September of 2008 are what they say "could" be the batch to watch out for/get an extended warranty.
