Recently I have been following some tutorials on making websites online

I worked the site which was an adult site, went through all the process with web hosting.

When I came to verify it through google I was immediately notified that it had been hacked (content hijacking)

I immediately removed the site offline and removed any content it had.

since then my MacBook Pro has had a mind of its own, the screen is repeatedly flickering when I walk away from it.

Is it possible that my computer has been hacked? How much damage could someone cause doing this?

Download MalwareBytes and run it:

IMPORTANT:
Select the "home" option.
It's a FREE download

IMPORTANT:
You DO NOT NEED TO BUY A SUBSCRIPTION to run MalwareBytes.
It will run FOREVER IN FREE MODE.
When you open it, IGNORE the button to "Upgrade Now".
Just click "Scan Now".
Again, you DO NOT have to buy the pay-for version!
