I just got a new Macbook Pro (the late '11 model a couple of months ago) and the hard drive appears to have corrupted or gone odd. I tried to repair with disk utility and it told me to backup and restore. I backed up the disk with time machine (I have a bootcamp partition of about 130GB too) and tried to restore.

When I booted up the recoveryHD to restore time machine couldn't find the Macintosh HD disk so I can't restore to that. Should I reinstall OSX then use a time machine backup? or is there some repair option I need to do in disk utility to restore it.

I'm worried if i completely reinstall OSX i'll lose the bootcamp partition as it'll wipe everything.

Thanks for any help.
