Whaddup kind peoples. I'm planning on upgrading my macbook pro 13inch hard drive this weekend, as I only have about 20 gigs left and it's slowing to a crawl bc of it. I was wondering if anyone had experience with hard drive brands they put into their pros, and what brand would be the best (aka fast, reasonably priced, least likely to fail). I'm looking for about 500 gigs. I know many people recommend western digital, but i've also read some horror stories about them. any recommendations?

Save yourself the trouble and save your excess files onto an external disc drive :)

The Hitachi Travelstar (5400 or 7200 rpm) is a good choice. Low heat and power usage. You'll see slightly better battery life with the 5400rpm drive.

well thanks for all your input......

do you have an internal hard drive you'd like to recommend ?

LOL. No. Sorry. I have 320GB and migrate extra files off the disk onto the cloud and/or external drives. In fact, I might end up switching out my 320GB for a smaller SSD someday, because I think I can get away with less space for memory. But, that is only IF I get around to reorganizing my files :)
