I am having this issue near daily now. When I move the machine, ie, from lap to desk, or carry it to another room, it locks up. The time doesn't change, the mouse will not move. Only thing I can do is to hold the power button till it turns off then turn it back on.

This could be due to the "motion sensors" in the MBP. You should put the MBP to sleep before moving it and then wake it up after the move. The purpose is to protect you from a hard disk crash from jarring the computer.
