Macbook Pro has only 1 fan ?

Hello there.

I have a macbook pro, 15 inch (the cheapest one). Just got it a few months ago from best buy.

I got SMC Fan Control app for it, helps cool it down when I play games.

I noticed that....on SMC Fan Control...it only shows that I have a "Left Side" fan. Are Macbook Pros suppose to have only 1 fan ? Or is mine not functioning ?

IIRC, the MBP has two - one on each side, so yours would not be functioning correctly. Either that, or Fan Control is not reading properly.

Well I did some more research, I found this thread Here

13" model 1 fan
15" 2.53 model 1 fan
the rest of the 15" 2 fans
17" model 2 fans

why?

2 graphics cards = more heat

So I guess I am suppose to have only 1 fan ? I have the 2.53 model

2 fans are only needed for models with discrete graphics.

The GPU generates more heat than the CPU.
