So I discovered today that the 2011 13" macbook pro has an optical audio output in the headphone jack, I unplugged my apple headphones and noticed red light coming out of the port. I resumed my youtube video and no sound was playing and the volume keys weren't responding.
If I plug in my headphones, it plays perfectly normal on my headphones. When I unplug, there's a half second delay, then the red light shoots out kinda like an optical audio port on the back of a ps4. If I go system preferences - sound - output, it just says optical audio and I can't adjust anything. Any idea how to fix this? I see nothing visibly clogged in there, how can get back to using the regular speakers? Thanks!
