 I paid for expedited shipping and haven't received my MacBook Pro yet. Ordered on the 19th, shipped on the 24th and FedEx said I would get it by Friday March 27th. It didn't even leave Ontario by then so I asked them where it was and they said no later than Monday March 30th by 6pm pacific and it still hasn't arrived.

I called FedEx and they said it should have left Ontario today but it hasn't. Hopefully this doesn't take too much longer because I paid expedited shipping and it's already over the 5 day maximum it should take.

Edit: FedEx told me it made it on this morning's flight and I should expect it sometime this afternoon!

Because I paid them, not FedEx.

Wasn't there a thread where another user was experiencing the same setback due to a back order of some sort?

It's not on backorder it has just been sitting in Ontario since Friday for some reason when the destination is British Columbia.

I spoke to an Apple rep today about another issue and he said their orders are being backed up because of some volcanic activity in alaska.. or something like that. iono just my 2 cents.

yes but his computer is already in Ontario right?

It doesn't matter because from what I hear, the entire system for transporting/delivering products has been disrupted. Apparently, resources are being used for other-than-normal things. Of course, I have no idea about this guy's laptop; all I know is that a bunch of crap has been messed up with deliveries due the the volcano. :)

A friend of mine ordered a MBP that was destroyed on the plane crash in Japan and now the second machine from Apple is delayed due to the volcano "natural disaster" in Alaska.

ah that's too bad. i hope everyone up there in alaska is all right....well....except for Palin:D;)

I can confirm orders are delayed due to the volcanic activity in Alaska.

No, I'm not talking about Fedex delays... I am talking about delays from Apple due to backorders (in response to the poster I quoted earlier). Apple isn't experiencing any delays due to back orders of their 15" MBPs.

Its pretty odd that people are still facing delays. I sent my UMBP17" to Apple last Monday to be captured by their engineers, and since it was a custom configuration, they had to build me a new one from scratch in China. The order was placed on Monday night, and I got the new machine on Friday.

Fast processing and build times aside, I didn't experience any delays from FedEx, and just like my first machine, it came 3 days ahead of FedEx's schedule. Maybe I'm just lucky.

For reference, I'm in Pittsburgh, PA in the US.
