I have an i7 MBP 15" that came with the 500gb 5400rpm HD... I need more storage.

Looking for a 1tb drive that is fast.... suggestions?

Also what is a good way to migrate the data from the existing HD to the replacement?

yes get a samsung spin point 1tb 9.5mm height hard drive.

Yes it is 5400 but since the platters are 500gb each, they are more dense and therefore can perform as well as a 7200, if not better.

Time machine, or carbon copy cloner with an external hard drive enclosure would be your best bet.

The samsung spin point is good also (the one mentioned above) i have that one swell.
