Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my 13" 2009 unibody Macbook Pro HD. I curently have a 500GB one installed, but would like a total of 1GB.

My questions are...

1. Having never done upgrades to macs before, I assume the MBP only has space for 1 HD? So I couldn't just get an extra 500GB?

2. Are all SATA 2.5" internal HD's compatible? Would this be compatible for example...

Thanks in advance :)

I believe the 2.5" 1TB drives come in two different footprints.

They are two thicknesses....

9.5mm

12mm

The 9.5 should fit fine, I cannot speak to putting a 12mm drive in the 13" MBP

I recently installed one in my 15" MBP ( purchased from OWC as a kit - included a USB enclosure for the drive being removed and all tools needed for the install )

Even thought I probably had the tools, it was nice having them come with the kit and now I have an extra set.

ALSO - I was informed of problems with some 2.5" 1TB drives, but they were the 7200 RPM units. The 5400 RPM drives seem to be fine.
