Hi. I just purchased my first Macbook Pro, 13" after a lot of years being miserable with the other side of the computing world.

Anyway...

I assume my MBP is high def. I went full-bore when I bought it and maxed out all the systems, although I'm pretty sure the Retina Display is high def.

Yet when I go to Amazon and purchase HD movies for instant streaming, I receive a popup stating that my computer does not play High Def and that Amazon will stream Std. Def.

So...being new, is there a feature inside my MBP where I have to enable High def? Is there something that I need to do in order to make it look like it's "turned on" (yeah, not sure that's possible, but I think you get my drift) so Amazon, or other streaming services, recognize the High Def?

Thank you in advance for helping me out ...the new guy on the block.

Thanks...

Got it. Understand now. Being new, I forget some of this OS issues.

I've been super happy with my MBP and will never be going back to MS Windows or PC...other than work which doesn't use Apple too frequently.

Thanks so much.
