I just had my HR Glossy replaced with a HR AG display. I've noticed that I cannot change the refresh rate in Windows or in OSX. Is it because the HR AG only has 1 refresh rate of 60hz?

I'm fairly certain all of the displays only use a 60Hz refresh rate. The AG and glossy both use the same panel, just a different cover, and I can't change the refresh rate on my computer either.

Holding option when you click "displays" should give you the refresh rate drop down menu, at least it does for my external monitor. Unfortunately everything but 60hz is greyed out.

Oh ok. Does your display screen look like mine then I'm guessing?

Yeah, my external actually has an option for 59 as well as 60, but I see no reason to change it.

I'm not talking about an external though. I'm talking about the HR AG on the MBP. Also there usually is an option to change colors or something like that also.

this is not true. The anti glare display has a matte coating on the LCD panel and is otherwise exposed. The glossy display is simply covered by the glass and uncoated.

The LCD panels in fact have different model numbers as well.

This is not what alust2013 was getting at. They meant that on all MB/MPB's, the refresh rate is not changeable.

Also, to the OP, why must you change your refresh rate? What is the reason?

I don't want to but I thought I could when I had the glossy. I was just worried that something was wrong when I my screen got changed.

Any other input from people? I'm just making sure everything is the way it should be.

I don't know how long you've been on Mac OS X but OS X doesn't offer a refresh rate change, only the resolution can be changed. I have a 27" iMac and the HR AG MBP and neither offer a refresh rate change. It's really unnecessary to do that as anything out of the norm would cause eye strain.

I've been on OSX for a while actually. I just remember my display screen looking like this so I was just worried why it looked like the screen I posted on the topic post.

Hi, as far as I know TFT Panels have a fixed refresh rate of 60 Hz.
So there is neither the use nor the option of changing.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
cu,
