Hello all,

I've got a 15" MBP and a case. Can I put my MBP in sleep mode and leave it in my case? I've searched, and have seen a few comments for and against. Is there any official word from Apple on the matter?

Also, while a MacBook Pro is in sleep mode, is it any more bump-vulnerable than when it's off? My usual means of transportation is pretty bumpy.

Thanks,

Yeah its fine to do that in sleep mode. All moving parts are turned off when its in sleep and no extra heat is produced so its all good ;)

Great, thanks. Does Apple actually say this somewhere, just to be safe?

i do it all the time...it wouldn't make any since to shut down you laptop every time you want to go somewhere.
