I've been having a problem with the ethernet connection on my MBP the last few days. Every once in awhile, my internet connection will stop working. All I have to do is unplug the ethernet cord from my computer and plug it back in and everything is fine, but it gets rather annoying especially when the same thing happens a few times in a row. If it helps anyone out, I am on a college network. Could the problem be something with my IP address? Suggestions welcome.

An interesting note that I forgot to mention. I use my same ethernet cable with my Xbox Live. It is configured so that the network recognizes it as my laptop. I have not had any issues of being kicked off Xbox Live or anything like that. This leads me to believe maybe its something with my MBP

Thanks in advance!
