Hi guys,

First topic here on the forum. I just got my new MBP 15" i7 on the Japanese store with the educational discount. And I need to say that I cannot imagine better deal in any other country.

After taxes, I paid around $2,015 for the default configuration (glossy screen, etc.), which is already a good price by itself.

But... They just give me for FREE an Ipod Touch 8GB !!

Does any other country has this kind of deal?

Well school in Japan starts in April and they try to sell macs to students..

In Taiwan, the educational discount is available around end of July.

I assume US would also have this same kind of offer.

I'm going to be in Japan next week. how much in yen did you pay for your i7? if its possible, can you break down the cost for me? thanks.

The total cost of the High-end 15" in yen was 188,000, against the 208,000 before the discount.
