I've got myself a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro 15" and I'm curious about the keyboard lighting. It appears that the keyboard should light up when the lighting conditions require it (eg it gets dark) but it doesn't appear to be that way.. and if I turn it on manually, the keyboard stays lit up even in direct sunlight.

Attached is my keyboard setting..

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Daniel

Thats how it would seem! I prefer to set these manually (the keyboard lights can be adjusted with f5/6 easily) and especially with the screen brightness- having it 'adjust' to your ambient light is more of a headache than its worth!

is there anyway to keep it manual, i try setting the brightness of the keyboard to the minimum but if i move around with the computer it get brighter, can i make it stay at the minimun, always?

Agreed.
Auto adjust is a PITA and, for me, usually does not switch on the keyboard lights when I need them.
I usually only have them on about 2 "clicks" anyway.
