i will be getting a refurb early 2008 macbook pro soon and will need a bag for it. i never bought a bag so i'm not sure what bags are good or bad. these are a few i have been looking at.

i would like it to be under $90. i will mostly be putting my laptop, external 2.5 hard drive enclosure, mouse, game controller, a small cd case (holds 25 cd's or so) into this. i am not a student, so almost 0 books will have to fit in there. maybe a magazine or 2.

if anyone has any other suggestions besides these i'm willing to listen.

FWIW, I had one of the STM bags for my 17" MBP and it wasn't very well constructed and in the end fell apart. Fair enough they replaced it under warranty, but I sold it and bought something else.

Haven't seen the Lowepro so can't comment, but I went for a Swissgear and love it. It's big enough to hold all the extra crap and the construction (wide shoulder straps, padded back, etc) make it very comfortable to carry. There are a number of them on Amazon or other sites depending on what size etc. you want.

I have a Crumpler King Single bag, I was able to find it for about $80, and I love it! It is a great bag, very comfortable and protective.

I've got a black North Face Insider, found it with a small defect for about half price. Nice bag

I use a Swissgear "Synergy" for my 15" MBP and I'm very happy with it. It's especially good if you need alot of pockets & storage.

thanks for the advice. i'm starting to lean towards the swissgear.
