Hey guys,
I was wondering where is the best place to buy a replacement superdrive for my Macbook Pro Late 2008 Unibody 2.4ghz 15"?

If I find out the drive's model number, can I just look on ebay for the replacement even though it doesn't specifically say its for the mac?
So, when I receive the bare drive, I can just transfer the drive data cable, mounting screws and bracket?

Any other suggestions of online retailers besides OWComputing (because they don't have the drive) or eBay?

Thanks, Paul

Thanks, I heard they were overpriced though. And any ideas for the above questions too?

try to get the item no. from ifixit.com and search from ebay instead.

ifixit.com or macsales.com (owc) have great deals on just about any part for your Mac.

You can ind out the model of your superdrive at, about this mac>more info> then look under ATA. I replaced my superdrive from a new on that I got from ebay for less than 100 dollars. Hope that helps.
