Last night I looked in Network Utility and realized that my wi-fi airport extreme is still set only as a/b/g and has not been enabled for "N". So I went ahead and purchased the N Enabler, but it says it can't install because the hardware isn't compatible.

Any ideas?

You don't need the N enabler. That's why it didn't install.
