I am very new here and most of this is way above my comfort zone but.... I recently had my Mac cleaned, physically and files and systems, plus installed new batteries. When I got it back it worked except it wouldn’t wake up without shutting it down and restarting it. About a week later the screen starts flickering. Then started flashing colours. See attached file. I tried turning it on again and it stayed black. Is it worth getting someone to look at it again? The guy installed a newer OS than I was using. Can’t tell you what as I am scared to even try turning it on again.

Don’t know if your MBP has the GPU problem, but it’s extremely common in the 2011 model.

Replying to my own post. My display is gone. Everything looks good when I hook up to the tv. So now the question would be is it worth fixing?

Mine had the gpu problem and I had it fixed a few years ago by a local tech and it’s still working, although I can’t hard wire to the tv anymore. Airplay still works. So for me it was worth it. But I don’t know if that’s the problem, so hopefully someone else can advise.

You have not told us WHAT SIZE the display is.
If it's 15" or 17", you have something called "RadeonGate".
Research that term. The discrete GPU has failed.

It's not worth "repairing" at this point.

It's possible to still keep using it, but you have to "disable" the discrete GPU.
There are one or more threads here (check the "sticky" section) on how to do that.
They're quite long -- you have some reading to do.

If you don't wish to do that, then it's time to start shopping for a replacement...

I never had screen flickering when my GPU died, it either booted up or it did not. But while the GPU was working there did come a point when the screen started flickering. At the time (few years back I think) there was a video board recall for the 2011 MBP 15". Apple verified the issue and got it working again (no charge, they even replaced my RAM [said it was faulty but it was working before they took it], and the magsafe connector).
