Can you totally gut out two, late 2011 MBPs, one glossy (2.4Ghz i7 quadcore) and one anti-glare (2.5Ghz i7 quadcore), then swap the guts from one to the other; so that now the 2.5Ghz has the glossy display unibody while the 2.4Ghz has the anti-glare display unibody??? I enjoy to gut things out.

Even if it's possible, why spend all that energy to gain 100MHz?

Laptops were not designed to be "gutted".

If you don't mind voiding the warranty on two computers then sure it's possible, difference is the logic board

That said, prolly easier not to "gut them out" and simply do a display swap.

isn't it plain easier to just swap the screen on the two machines?
i mean there's like, what, six screws to remove from the anchor.

Well I just did it, me and my gal pal switched. We just wanted to prove to ourselves we can. Also when I asked technicians about swapping displays out, as in, ordering in a glossy display, he estimated his fee to be around 1800 dollars, we both batted our eyelashes at him and walked out of the place with a mission!

These notebooks are really easy to gut.
