MacBook Pro Late 2016 with Touchbar - Two finger gesture for back and forward not working well

Hi guys,

I'm trying to use the forward and backward gestures in Safari with the trackpad. However, I've noticed it always takes two attempts or more for the gesture to be registered properly and most of the time, it just moves left to right between the webpage. Anyone why this occurs?

I have the non-TouchBar version and I am having the exact same issue. I hope that it is just a software issue and it gets resolved soon.
